TEHRAN Hundreds of inter-city passengers remained waiting in the metro stations on Thursday "because electricity had been cut." After people had waited two hours in the stations, the concerned officials gave no explanation to them.
The TEHRAN TIMES followed the case and asked an informed source who told the international daily that the metro gets its power from Alestom Power Station and since the station's power had been cut, this problem happened.
The source said in the future metro plans to receive its power from Ghorkhaneh and if it gets its power from two power stations, such problems as power cuts will diminish.
"At present, however, we are using one power station," the source added.
